Linfield Precision Engineering Ltd was originally started in 1979 by Richard Linfield, with just one Milling Machine after he had previous working and management experience in engineering
companies in the local area. Having worked his way up from an apprentice. Initially sub-contracting work that local companies were unable to produce in-house, he quickly established himself as a specialist in technical prototype work on a sub-contract
basis for companies involved in the medical industries and motor sport, particularly Formula One. In the late 90’s he was joined by his son Steve, who came from a media background due to the needs of the expanding administration involved
and then in 2004 his other son Matt joined the company, after achieving a University first class honours degree in Mechanical Engineering and then prior experience in design and manufacture in the oil industry. With Matt's appiontment a full design facility
was added to the company repertoire. In 2015 Richard stepped away from the day to day running of the business, but still remains a Director is very much in touch with everything that goes on. In April 2019 Steve made the difficult decision to
step away from the business to live in Australia.
The company has continued to meet customer needs with a full in-house CNC Milling and Turning facility and Auto-Cad
design. This means that a customer could literally have an idea turned into reality from the beginning to the end point of use. In 2012 we expanded further and now have a 2100 sq ft facility, based from Richard’s original premises
in the small town of Billingshurst in West Sussex.
We are based just one minute from the railway station, which is on the London Victoria to Portsmouth line.
Gatwick Airport is 40 minutes away and other nearby larger towns and cities such as Brighton, Crawley, Guildford and Horsham are all within a 30-40 minute drive.
